I'm ready for mom and dad to come home. I've been on Dixie duty for almost two weeks, and I need a break. I don't fall right back asleep after taking her out at night like I do when I get up to use the bathroom. She's only gotten up once a night the past two nights though. I'm having trouble getting into the holiday spirit this year. Normally by this time of year, I'm rearing to go. I think it's because of the health problems. I have a DMV medical review and need to have the eye doctor fill out a form, but mom is going to help me with that. Today the birds were vocal. There is a cute Red Tail who sings to people who visit him, but he has placement somewhere else. I will miss him when he leaves. The birds inside were vocal too, mainly Puck (AMKE) and Surrey (BNOW). I also got to hear lots of hooting from the GHOW boys, Dudley, Dumbledore, and Boo. I got both a cute card and a cute present today. I didn't feel like waiting until Wednesday to unwrap it. I love it. My bed is getting full. Goodwill vulture, the generic gray owl, Baby Macaw, fluffy little dog, and the Ty yorkie have been joined by a cute cockatoo. I had just put the Ty yorkie up on my bed yesterday. I have the flu. It sucks. I went from being fine yesterday morning to fever and cough last night, and my fever just got higher and higher today. Today, I tried to make vanilla fudge out of vanilla frosting. Dad and I had been talking about fudge, and he suggested vanilla frosting as a substitution in my recipe, because frosting is about the same consistency as peanut butter.
